CYUT's 30th anniversary unfolded with a solo exhibition by acclaimed ceramic artist Jen-Yao Li. Li is the National Outstanding Young Artists Award recipient and an alumnus of the Industrial Design Department. In honor of CYUT's milestone, Li generously donated 30 exquisite small-mouthed vases to the university's collection.
Li currently serves as the Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Ceramics Association Taiwan. He has been practicing clay throwing for 39 years. His unparalleled mastery of small-mouthed vases showcases his exceptional craftsmanship and precision in shaping. Each vase features a tiny bottle mouth measuring just 0.01cm, allowing only a strand of hair to pass through. His exceptional work was once nominated as the championship trophy of the World Tennis Championship Tournament. It was part of prestigious collections at the University of Illinois and the Soong Ching Ling Foundation.
CYUT takes immense pride in Li's achievements. His return for the exhibition and lecture underscores his profound connection with his alma mater. Li expressed heartfelt gratitude to CYUT and faculty members of industrial design for their enlightenment and support throughout his artistic journey. His dedication through this donation serves as an expression of gratitude. He looks forward to mentoring more junior students in the future and wishes CYUT continuous success in nurturing exceptional talents.
